DESCRIPTION:Pathfinder School is a nurturing environment for children with multiple and diverse disabilities. Our program focuses on providing students with new and engaging opportunities to explore the world around them\, communicate their views and needs\, to develop interests and skills\, and to succeed in a scholastic setting. We believe that offering unique and innovative learning experiences is integral in supporting students’ growth\, social and emotional well-being\, and emerging independence. \nOne recent development in this vein has been the regular scheduling of Drum Circle opportunities with Jim Talbot of Drum Quest.  A talented teacher and percussionist who has a national following\, “Jimbo” Talbot easily engages and encourages students in rhythm and music exercises; these sessions help students articulate and express themselves musically\, improve motor skills and coordination\, and encourage cooperation in working toward common goals. \nCome and visit us at Pathfinder Village\, an internationally renowned open-access neighborhood where individuals with Down syndrome and developmental disabilities make lasting friendships\, learn about community\, and gain independence.
